Our interest in Genealogy is  relatively new and started through my Mother who occasionally sent off for a Birth Death or Marriage certificate for one of her ancestors on her Mothers side.

She decided to  get a copy of my Grandfathers birth certificate on my Fathers side as we knew little about him as he died when my Father was 12 and my Father died some 13 years ago.

All her searches ended up with negative results and her cheques being returned, so she tried for a death certificate and subsequently got a copy. It showed his correct name (as we thought) and gave all his death details but we were still none the wiser as to his birth details.

Last year we got this computer and went on the internet and by chance hit a genealogy site and within a few days the riddle was answered, someone found my Grandfather on the 1881 census and it turned out he was illegitimate and his birth was registered under his Mothers name ( something I don't think even my Father knew) , a request to the records office quickly supplied the missing certificate and we were hooked in this search for our ancestors.

A lot of people have helped us trace our lines but a special word of thanks to Rod Neep, Jennifer Tombs, David Meredith, Ron Booth , Steve Morse  and our adopted uncle Bradmore Jack. Thank you too everyone who has kindly looked up information for us.

If you can help expand our lines or you think you may be related then please E-Mail us , we have already made contact with two people who share the same Great Great Great Grandfathers as us so you never know.
